May 2nd, 2004 Racing

Sunday May 2nd

The 2004 season has officially started for Schroeder Motorsports and things got off to a great start. This was the first race for the brand new car that was built by Mark and crew from the ground up during the offseason. Mark qualified 5th fastest with a 19.621 which put him in the fast dash. Mark was lined up on the outside pole for the dash event, along side Jeff Van Oudenhoven. Once the green flew Mark was able to make the pass for the lead and pull away, within laps Terry Baldry was on Marks tail, but was unable to make the pass. Mark went on to take the dash win to start the season off. In the feature event Mark lined up 9th and drove a conservative race, but held his own and showed championship form. Mark would cross the line in 5th place, what a great way to start the 2004 season! The team will work on the car this week and be back at WIR next Sunday May 9th.
