When one has a great season going there is no way to stop it is there? It appears as this may very well be the year for Mark Schroeder and team to challenge for the championship. You use to hear people say it will be between Terry Baldry and Jeff Van Oudenhoven, but now you hear Mark Schroeder's name pop up more than you ever did. It takes a whole package and it appears Mark and team have found a winning package with a new lefthander chassis and power coming from Goodwin Competition.
Mark started the night out on a high note when he qualified with a time of 19.603 which was 2nd fastest of the 23 cars that qualified. That put Mark in the fast dash started on the outside of the back row, 3 laps into the race there was a tangle between the top 3 cars which sent them all to the rear of the field. Mark was in 3rd place and challenging for 2nd place, but ran out of time.
In the feature event Mark was lined up 9th (inside of row 5), at the start it looked like the outside line was the line that was moving forward. As the traffic spread out, Mark took the outside line and made his way into the top 6. With the new rules you have to do alot of your passing on the outside, which it appears Mark has a good setup for. As the laps wound down Mark was driving hard to get into the top 5, Mark took the 4th position with 3 laps remaining. It appeared Mark had a car as fast as the leaders, but there just wasn't enough time to get up there. We will see you next week!!
