July 3rd, 2003 Racing

After having trouble last Thursday the team headed to WIR on Wednesday for some practice to make sure everything was ok after the contact with the wall last week. It was a hot and humid night tonight and it showed as the qualifying laps were slower. Mark turned a lap of 19.739 which was 2nd fastest. The lineup for the dash had Mark 5th (inside row 3), the cars stayed pretty much side by side and the laps ran down quick, Mark came to the checkers in 5th place. In the feature the lineup had the #7 car 14th (outside row 7). After a few laps Mark came down to the inside line and was able to make his way through traffic. Mark was able to make some moves around slower cars and get up into the 5th place. Mark was hold off challenges from Terry Baldry while catching the cars in front of him. The laps were running down and the car was pushing entering turn 1. At the checkers Mark came home 5th.
