Sunday May 4th

Racing season has started for Schroeder Motorsports and has it ever started out great! Mark qualified 7th fastest just missing the fast dash by .020 of a second. Mark started the fast heat from the tail and worked his way around the outside and found himself in 2nd place before long. Mark was closing in on leader Rod Wheeler, heading into turn 3 on the last lap Mark got under Rod and took the lead coming into turn 4. Mark took the win in the fast heat race, that was only the start of the event. Mark started in 4th place (outside of row 2), 5 laps into the race Mark was working his way into second place. Once in second place Mark was working on passing leader Mike Gardner. Coming out of turn 2 Mark got a run on Mike Gardner and took the lead. Mark extended his lead by 8 cars lengths and was pulling away until the caution came out. At the green flag Mark had Gardner right on him, after a few laps the tires were hot again and Mark once again pulled away from the pack. With 5 laps to go Mark had Terry Baldry behind him, but he wasn't gaining on Mark. Mark continued on and took the feature win! This is the second year in a row that Mark has taken the opening night feature win. Great start to the year!
