Mark was all set to go out and qualify, but the rain showers showed up. Qualifying was then scratched and the field was lined up on average qualifying time. That would put Mark second in time for the evening. Mark was on the inside of row 3 in the dash and was the only car able to advance his position, Mark would bring the car home in 2nd place in the dash. One or two more laps and Mark would have won the dash. In the feature Mark would line up on the inside of row 9 (17th place) and begin his Mark to the front. The track was really greasy, as someone was leaking fluid for most of the race, but officials weren't sure who was leaking. Mark made his way up to about the 7th place when the caution came out. During cautions the field is placed back to the lineup the previous lap. The lineup was incorrect which put Mark behind a car he has had problems getting a lane from in the past. Mark was able to make his way by, but was held up for quite a few laps. Mark was able to work through some more traffic and got to the 4th position. The leaders weren't to far away and Mark was trying his best to catch them. Coming out of turn 2 and going down the backstraight Mark got into the wall and lost a position. Mark held on to the 5th place at the checkers. After the evening was completed there was some questions about the top 3 cars. At one point it was stated all cars would be moved up 3 places. After a while later, it was decided all cars would keep there positions.
