After having the last week off because of heavy rains we were ready to get back to racing and chasing down Terry Baldry. Just as the late models were getting practice time it started to rain and rained for about 1 hour. Most figured we would be lined up by our average which would put us in the dash and feature anyway. Much to our surprize it was announced there would be 10 minutes of practice and then qualifying. We started qualifying at 7pm which is when the races normally start. We qualified 3rd fastest with a 19.683 which put us outside or row 2, we were able to advance one position in 6 short laps to a 3rd place finish. Feature line up showed us on the outside of row 4. Coming to the green flag there was contact between the two leaders which caused a pile up, Mark was able to get on the brakes quick enough and avoid any contact. After some clean up it was time to race again, Mark moved through traffic using the outside line. About lap 20 Mark was just trying to hang on as the car got really loose. At the checkers Mark finished 4th in the feature. Mark was able to jump back into 2nd place in points, but is still 70 points back from Terry Baldry. Terry is going to be hard to catch, but we will do our best to catch him! The 96 champion is hungry for another one!
