Thursday June 20th

After having last Thursday off, it was back to the Thursdays we remember best, warm sunny weather on race night! Things went well to start the night and then things went bad. First of all the car was wrecked Saturday night at the Red race. Mark and crew put the car back togethor including new front fenders, new hood and new radiator. Mark went out to qualifying and during a 19.740 which put him 3rd fastest. There were no heat events tonight and it was time for the feature event. The crew made some big changes to the car and the car looked like it was on rail in the feature! Mark had started the feature about mid pack and was working traffic high and low. By lap 35 Mark was up to 5th place and looking to take 4th place out of turn 2. The 1st through 5th place car were in a tight pack. The second place car made serious contact with the 1st place car and everyone piled into it. Mark was involved in the accident which tore off the front fenders, nose, hood and radiator again which had just been replaced. The car was fast and Mark looked to be on his way to feature win number 2 before this accident happened. Mark had taken over the points before the accident happened. We will get them next week!
