Saturday September 15th

Tonight was the last race to be run at Wisconsin International Raceway for the season. Mark carried an American Flag on the roof of his car showing support for the United States during these tough times. The night started out well as Mark qualified second fastest, he was also the last car to qualify. Mark started toward the back for the First 50 lap race and began his march to the front which he would finish in 8th place. In the Second 50 lap race Mark started a little more toward the front and ran very well passing many cars on the outside. Mark commented the car is really good!! Mark was looking to get around the #55 of Todd Kluever and had a run on the inside through 1 and 2. Mark was under him and got chopped down on, Mark wasn't going to give up, contact was made the 55 spun and both headed to the rear. Mark would start second to last in the feature and started his march again. The race would go very bad for Mark and the team around lap 30. Mark rubbed the back straight wall slightly and mentioned on the radio "I think I have a tire going low." Mark continued to run and the next lap heading down the front straight sparks from under the front right of the car. Mark would slam into the turn 1 soft walls very hard, the car briefs burst into flames. Mark got out of the car in a hurry but was complaining of pain in his right shoulder. The car looked pretty bad as it was taken off the track on the flat bed. This was not the way Mark wanted to end the season at WIR. Glad you are ok Mark.
