Thursday August 30th

Tonight was the final night of racing for the Fox River Racing Club. Heading into the races Mark was 4th place in points. The qualifying times were fast tonight as Mark turned a 19.779 which was 8th fastest. Mark missed the dash by 2 cars which put him in the 4th heat. Mark would start in 7th place in the heat and was working his way forward as the pack was still close togethor. Mark worked his way through and took 4th place at the checkers. The feature lineup had Mark starting in 8th place in the feature. Mark would moved up to 3rd place, he would be over taken by Jeff Van Oudenhoven, Lowell Bennett and Eddie Hoffman. At the checkers Mark finished in 6th place. Overall the 2001 season was successful, Mark won many dashs, almost set fast time one night. Mark finished the 2001 season 4th in points with 879.
