June 23rd Racing

June 23rd, 2000 - Not a very good night for Mark as his qualifying times were both in the 20 seconds. He didn't make the feature by time. He ran the heat which he started on the outside front row. He was going pretty good at the green and after a couple laps just slid to the back and pulled in. He said the motor was flattening out. During the time between the heat and the semi they went to work on the motor. Mark got out for the semi and had to start at the tail of the semi feature. At the drop of the green Mark and Lowell worked there way to the front. Lowell got a little bit ahead of Mark. Normally the top 2 advance but tonight the top 4 advance. Mark was up to 5th with two laps left. Mark would try all he could to get the final transfer spot but was unable to. Well the second place driver decided not to transfer which means Mark could have made the feature.
