June 8th Racing

June 8th, 2000 - The weather decided to go from rain to hot. The car during hot laps seemed to be sticking right to the bottom of the track. Mark went out for qualifying and turned a lap of 20.047 which would be 17th fast. The time was good enough to make the feature. Mark would have to run the 3rd heat in which he started mid pack. He was able to advance some but would take 4th as the checkers flew. Mark started near the tail of the feature and didn't advance much at all. During the race Mark was in contact with the crew on the radio. Mark said he was right on the bottom of the track but didn't have much power down the straightaways. Mark is looking into a cure for that this week. Even after a night like this Mark commented it's early in the season and we won't give up this easy! Tomarrow up to Norway.
