August 12th Racing

August 12th, 1999 - As the season begans to wind down with just 3 nights of Thursday Night Thunder Left. It looked like a terrible day, rained off and on in Green Bay but not rain fell at the track. During qualifying Mark turned a lap of 20.096 which would be 13th fastest. Since the time wasn't a dash time he would have to start in the 4th heat. Mark would finish in 3rd place for heat 4. When the feature rolled around and they took the green flag Mark was running wheel to wheel with Mike Reichenberger. Mark would eventually pull past Mike and let till lap 9. Then Jeff Van Oudehovne would take over the lead. As the Top Guns started moving up the car started to go away and Mark would finish 7th place in the feature. It was a special night where they ran the race of champions. They take all the cars who have won a feature and the Top 2 drivers who haven't. Mark hasn't one a feature this season and was on of the two to join the field. Mark would take a 6th place at the finish. The points chase is tightening up and Mark is still 7th in points 105 behind the point leader.
