July 15th Racing

July 15th, 1999 - Mark started off by setting a time of 20.090. Just missing the 19's which he normally has no problem getting. That would be good enough for 11th fastest. That would mean Mark had to run the in the fourth heat. After getting caught down low Mark would drop back and finish in 7th place. In the feature Mark started on the outside of the front row. At the drop of the green the #17 of Terry Korth showed some power as Mark and Terry raced side by side. Mark ducked down underneath him and then #5 and #66 were coming on the outside. As they would both moved to the front Mark would make a move coming out of Turn 4. Mark was now the leader of the race until another group of cars were on there way to the front. Weber, Bennett,Van Oudehoven would go by. Gracy was the next one to come out the outside. Mark wasn't gonna let another car by. Mark was hanging real tough with Gracy. But then between turn 1 and 2 Gracy and Mark were racing hard when Mark had a flat tire and looped in. I don't know if Gracy was rubbing Mark and the fender his the tire or if it just went down. After Wheeler, Duchow, Rassmussen were DQed, Mark would go on to finish a 14th place finish.

Points - 5th place in points. 1 point from dropping to 6th.
