July 10th Racing

July 10th, 1999 - Mark was 8th fastest in qualifying. Mark started half way deep in the first 50 lapper. He started moving forward jumping to the outside line. But as he started to pick up position slower traffice jumped up high. Mark would fall back but would move up after gathering it up and getting back in his rythem. He would hang on to finish 10th in the first 50 lapper. Mark said the car was way to loose in the first 50 lapper. They tighten the car for the second 50 lapper. The car was running better in the second race. Mark was falling back a bit but then was moving right through traffic. Mark would get around the #45 and was charging and gaining on #8 Terry Baldry but there was lap traffic racing side by side in front of Mark. It would have taken a caution to get past Baldry.

Qualifying - 8th
First 50 Lapper- 10th
Second 50 Lapper - 7th
Points - 8th place only 43 behind points leader Lowell Bennett
